Design Inside Film meets architect and interior designer Alejandro Giménez in his hometown Estepona, in Andalusia. The old town of Estepona is one of the prettiest, most charming, and „garden-like” places on the Costa del Sol. Alejandro Giménez studied in both Spain and America before graduating from Seville’s University of Architecture. His style is influenced by the architecture where he lives and grew up – Spain’s Mediterranean coast. However, he has also spent a lot of time in Mexico and Japan, and he incorporates ideas, colors and spaces from both of these countries in his projects. We had the pleasure of stepping inside Alejandro Giménez’s private home, Casa Hikari — House of Light — a remarkable expression of his design philosophy. This deeply personal project brings together Andalusian tradition and Japanese-inspired simplicity, where every detail tells a story of light, harmony, and belonging. Located in the historic center of Estepona, the house blends seamlessly into its surroundings. Its façade echoes the character of the old town, with whitewashed textures and cascading bougainvillea softening its presence. Inside, the main living space rises to nearly four meters in height, creating a sense of openness and calm. Every element,  from doors and cabinetry to the furniture, is crafted from the same solid oak, designed by Alejandro and custom-made by a local carpenter.
